ISIS...yesterday, today and tomorrow.

ISIS. The very name sounds destructive to us. With the recent Paris attacks or maybe the Beirut or Baghdad one or maybe the ongoing crises in the Syrian region, no one, I repeat no one thinks good about ISIS. But what actually is ISIS?

Lets go to Afghanistan in the 70's in order to understand the present. Alright, back then it was ruled by a man named Mohammad Zahir Shah. For four decades there was peace and stability in Afghanistan. He was educated in France and worked for the betterment of women and their growth.

With the Soviet Union's influence on Afghanistan and that the Soviet supported the modernization and education in Afghanistan, US and its allies were increasingly worried about their hegemony that they thought was threatened by Afghanistan and Soviet's influence on Afghanistan. That is when the allies of America i.e. Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and many others joined in to make an army of radical Islamists around the globe and trained and armed and directed them into a military force. Thus the 'Mujahideens' came into existence.

These 'Mujahideens' became the US' main offense against the Soviet's Afghanistan. After the war, but natural, Afghanistan faced a civil war. Obviously with the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 made it worse and drove the nation into a turmoil.

It was a direct reaction of Western Imperialism.

Coming to Iran...unitl 1953, it was ruled by a democratically elected man named 'Mohammad Mosaddegh'. Under him, Iran was a progressive nation. During this time, Britain tried to establish an oil company on the Iranian soil and promised to share the profits with the Iranian government. When the British did not honor their agreement, the PM demanded to seize the oil fields and ouster the British. Now the US and Britain in response over threw Mosaddegh in a coup and installed the Shah, a brutal tyrant. It was then that Iran became a complete monarchy, not before that.

Shah's security service as described by Amnesty International was 'the worst in the world and beyond belief' and also that it was CIA trained...there you go. Almost every social and political group was united in resisting the Shah, from the communists to the secularists to the Islamists. They demanded Iranian sovereignty and political freedoms. Is the current regime in Iran perfect? Absolutely not. We have unfortunately gone a full circle.

Today the US is supporting the ISIS and many others to oust the Iranian regime. They want to establish another pro-Western government like Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Iran, rather has been a peaceful nation since decades. They have never attacked any nation and have absolutely no intention to do so.

Alright, so the whole ISIS thing is a vicious circle. A never ending one. Its condemned by the European countries, America and even by countries all around the globe. But actually, its this Europe and America who made it the way it is now. Be it Anti-Assad rebels or maybe the free Syrian army to bring 'peace' in Syria through these trained men. The very indoctrinated ideology dates back to Mohammad Abdul Wahab or maybe the ideology of Saudi Arabia. No, its not that Wahhabism is responsible completely as to what ISIS is, but partially yes. Not all Wahhabis fall in that category but some do for sure.

Dating back to 1979, with Iranian revolution...the first kind of 'Mujahideens' came into existence with the help of none other than America and its allies. Gradually turning into Al-Qaeda and now this. America was adamant to remove the emerging powers threatening it's hegemony after Iran's revolution. Iraq, Syria and Libya (which it has almost successfully with the help of it's Arab allies).

The Saudi Foreign Minister claiming openly that it would support Anti-Assad rebels until Assad steps down and is removed shows how the whole situation has messed in just 2 years and that IS has control over the oil wells of Iraq and that THERE ARE countries which buy it's crude oil at a less price ( how else do you expect ISIS generates revenue). With many countries funding Anti-Assad groups (which are those groups that finally join ISIS, as per reports...ISIS has nearly 100 to 200 thousand militants, scary!) is creating even a worse scenario.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi rightly said that we need to make sure that this terrorist organization can be brought down only when we stop their funds and make sure no country is helping them in any manner.

Peace can be achieved only when all the nations unite against this evil ISIS.

Even if Assad is out, Syria would be in the hands of these rebels (Which would be even worse). Now, ISIS buys arms and grenades from countries which do business with it..obviously. So then, how do we expect to finish ISIS when the countries raising their voice AGAINST ISIS are actually SUPPORTING it in a way. Ironic! Isnt it?!

10 things to not miss when in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is considered as one of the most conservative nations across the globe. With its modernization and opening of tourism sector, below are some of the things you can do here. I have jotted down the top 10 things you cannot dare to miss during  your visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 1)       Shawarma Let us roll with the first one, literally! Shawarma it is. One cannot simply come to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and not have a Shawarma. Though not originally discovered in Saudi Arabia and not the native dish of Saudis, it has been topping the food chart since ages; without a doubt. Reason why I have placed it on number one in the ‘to do list’ is simply because of its availability at every corner of the city and that not even a single person would not like it. Like absolutely no one!  Shawarma wrap Shavings cut from a block of meat on a rotating split, it was originally invented in Turkey during the times of Ottoman Empire. Saudi Arabia adopted it a

Javed's Nihari

Karim’s…Mughlai Cuisine…Moti Mahal…no doubt are one of those finest places to dine in for dinner, but as I traveled today in the downtown of Jamia Milia, I came across this area packed with food and people. Yes, the lanes of Zakirnagar in Batla House are one of the most crowded places in South Delhi and this brings me closer to ‘Javed Bhai ki Nihari’. What young and old, people of all ages crave this. Javed ki Nihari as the name says was started by Javed Bhai. He has this small place for ‘take away’. Dining in is one of the most difficult tasks on Saturdays and Sundays and finding a place is like an achievement in itself. I could see many young guys chit chatting here. The place is is a small area where Javed Bhai has his handi and a big tandoori roti opening. One side you have this big handi in which the nihari is filled in and the other side is the roti area. People, when coming to this place make sure have atleast an hour to spare even when thinking to have a take away. Th

It’s all about BEEF!

Following the recent ban on the consumption of Beef in some of the states of India like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Kashmir, one might believe that the RSS led BJP government has taken the above step in order to respect the belief of Hindu majority as cow is considered the sacred animal but little do we know that top exporters of beef in India are owned and controlled by none other than my majority Hindu brethren and not the minority Muslim community. The general ideology behind beef consumption is that Muslim and Christian communities are the largest consumers of beef in India, which might actually be true also, however it is also true that the main slaughter houses across the country are owned by the Hindus . Al Kabir, owned by Mr. Satish and Atul Sabharwal with its office located in Mumbai is one of the leading exporters of beef in India Mr. Sunil Kumar, owner of Arabian exports is also in the top list of beef exports.
