The dilemma of an Indian Muslim

Courtesy: Google Images India, in its real form cannot move ahead if the government does not recognize the ongoing atrocities on the Muslims and brings it's largest minority community together, along with the other communities and discuss its's issues openly. If a community (Muslims and Dalits) is sidelined in matters like killing in the name of love jihad, lynching in the name of cow and cold-blooded murdering because one wears a skull cap and the situation is over looked; rather than making sure that no such event takes place again, India cannot develop. In my opinion, it has failed as a country, big time. For a diverse nation like India, all the communities need to be empowered equally and fairly. For this, the majority should come in together and recognize the ongoing enormity and hatred towards the largest minority of the nation rather than shedding it off and pushing it under the door mat. They must recognize that the Muslims of India are in danger and its

Triple talaq divorcees, widows of Vrindavan and many such practices.

In today’s colossally advancing times, ‘teen  talaq ’ and ‘the atrocities on Muslim women’ have been condemned by the strongest of voices in the country. Calling triple  talaq  as one of the most absurd practices and accusing Muslim Personal Law; from Prime Minister to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, everyone seems to have sympathized with these women. Undoubtedly, the society and the ruling party is too keen on fighting for the rights of women and the atrocities on them. But is it the only brimming issue of women that needs to be addressed? Obviously not! Yes, triple  talaq  has been misused among Muslim men and undeniably made many women suffer. A lot has been written and talked about them. From as ignorantly divorcing through whatsapp message to simply uttering ‘ talaq ’ thrice, it has indisputably done a lot of harm to the women folks who have been abiding by these cultural norms. Still from the movie 'Water' But not just it, there are other equally fret

What about Malda?

In today’s socially active world, you can easily identify a liberal, a secularist, a left winger, right winger or anyone else just from the way he/she comments. But, there is also a category. A category of a closet Sanghi. Someone who wouldn’t openly admit that he is one but would show the signs of the virus. A Facebook user puts it down perfectly. Let us see what a closet Sanghi mindset is like or at the least, how can you identify one: 1. He would start by claiming “I am not a fan of Modi, but” (whatever blah blah that follows....) 2. “The media is hyping up these lynchings, it's not so bad. Besides, I have a Muslim driver who brings biriyani for us on Eid and I pay him ten rupees bakshish”. 3. “My heart bleeds for the talaq prone and burkha clad Muslim women, but Muslim men being lynched? Why is that a big deal?” (See point # 2) 4. “India was so awesome that it gave refuge to persecuted Parsis, Polish and X, Y, Z, so keep calm in face of lynchings, we are a great na

“Hinduism, Hindutva, Partition of 1947 and the road ahead for India”

Hinduism is beautiful, you know why? Because you don’t have to follow a set of rules like other religions to be a Hindu. It is a tolerant belief. Exactly the reason why it led other beliefs flourish over the years on its land. Be it Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, Jainism or any other.  But not Hindutva. Hindutva is the hijacked version of Hinduism. Like ISIS is to Islam. Clear enough? Hinduism has six main schools of philosophy (Darshanas) of Hinduism (astika). Yes you read that right. It is a philosophy. 1)     Nyaya The Nyaya school is based on the  Nyaya Sutras , written by Aksapada Gautama in the 2nd Century B.C. Its methodology is based on a  system of logic  that has subsequently been adopted by the majority of the Indian schools. Its followers believe that obtaining valid knowledge (the four sources of which are perception, inference, comparison and testimony) is the only way to gain release from suffering. Nyaya developed several criteria by which the knowledge

10 things to not miss when in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is considered as one of the most conservative nations across the globe. With its modernization and opening of tourism sector, below are some of the things you can do here. I have jotted down the top 10 things you cannot dare to miss during  your visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 1)       Shawarma Let us roll with the first one, literally! Shawarma it is. One cannot simply come to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and not have a Shawarma. Though not originally discovered in Saudi Arabia and not the native dish of Saudis, it has been topping the food chart since ages; without a doubt. Reason why I have placed it on number one in the ‘to do list’ is simply because of its availability at every corner of the city and that not even a single person would not like it. Like absolutely no one!  Shawarma wrap Shavings cut from a block of meat on a rotating split, it was originally invented in Turkey during the times of Ottoman Empire. Saudi Arabia adopted it a
