Shouldn't BJP authenticate what it posts?

Indian National Congress in remembrance of Shaheed Bhagat Singh on 23rd March, the day Bhagat Singh was hanged in 1931 shared an info-graphic which differentiated Bhagat Singh from Savarkar, founder of RSS.

Bhagat Singh, who gave up his life for the nation has been described by Panditji in his autobiography as attractive, intellectual and remarkably calm and peaceful young man. He was just 23 years old when he was hung by the British government.

Below is the excerpt from the autobiography of Panditji describing Shaheed Bhagat Singh.

“The Legislative Assembly, as I have said before, was becoming a somnolent affair and few people took interest in its dreary activities. A rude awakening came to it one day when Bhagat Singh and B.K. Dutt threw two bombs from the visitors’ gallery on to the floor of the House. No one was seriously hurt, and probably the bombs were intended, as was stated by the accused later, to make a noise and create a stir, and not to injure.

…I saw Bhagat Singh for the first time, and Jatindranath Das a few others. They were all very weak and bed-ridden, and it was hardly possible to talk to htem much. Bhagat Singh had an attractive, intellectual face, remarkably calm and peaceful. There were to be no anger in it. He looked and talked with great gentleness, but then I suppose that anyone who has been fasting for a month will look spiritual and gentle.” (referring to their hunger strike in jail)

Whether or not Gandhiji and Nehru opposed the violent methods of Bhagat Singh and B.K. Dutt, it is clearly evident and undeniable that they never belittled Bhagat Singh’s ideological fight which was clear and comprehensible, ‘Independence’. Independence from the foreign rule, the British government.

To counter the Indian National Congress' post which showed Savarkar in a bad light and focused on his pleading the then authorities, the British government, BJP posted a 'fake' quote of Gandhiji in which he has 'praised' him. The quote, as shown is from '18th June, 1921' (Young India, a weekly journal published by Gandhiji). Reality is that during that month, the weekly journal was published 5 times, one on 1st June, then on 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th June. None published on 18th. It is understood that BJP has had a soft corner for Godse and Savarkar (as they were the initial members of RSS, BJP's mother party) but presenting historical facts in a way that pleases their interests would be distorting and deviating thing for the present generation. In times when every individual has the right to post whatever he thinks is right on the internet, the parties should be a little careful before sharing anything that isn't authenticated or backed by historical facts. Doing so is a deplorable thing.

While in jail, Savarkar wrote the work describing Hindutva, espousing Hindu nationalism. In 1921, under restrictions after signing a plea for clemency, he was released on the condition that he renounce revolutionary activities. Travelling widely, Savarkar became a forceful orator and writer, advocating Hindu political and social unity. Serving as the president of Hindu Mahasabha, Savarkar endorsed the ideal of India as a Hindu Rashtra and opposed the Quit India struggle in 1942. Fierce critic of Indian National Congress, he is accused of the assassination of Gandhiji as Nathuram Godse was a member of Hindu nationalist organizations like RSS and Hindu Mahasabha. Godse's newspaper, which started as Agrani later was renamed as Hindu Rashtra. He believed that Gandhiji repeatedly sabotaged the interests of Hindus by using the ‘fasting unto death’ tactic on many issues. In Godse’s view, Gandhiji was giving in to Muslim interests in ways that seemed unfair and anti-national.

BJP, clearly needs to rethink of it's support of Savarkar and the ideals of RSS as they are now ruling India, a secular, democratic, socialist, republic.

Sardar Patel had banned RSS in 1948 saying ‘The activities of the RSS constituted a clear threat to the existence of the Government and the State’. With reference to Hindu Mahasabha, he had said ‘There is no doubt in my mind the extreme section of the Hindu Mahasabha was involved in this conspiracy’. The fact, however, cannot be ignored.

Vidya Subrahmaniam, in her article in The Hindu ‘The Forgotten Promise of 1949’ asserts that Sardar Patel lifted the ban on the RSS in 1949, because it had promised to be non-political, but it reneged on it in 2013.

Accused of re-writing history, RSS, the ideological fount of BJP is trying to promote its vision of Indian culture and way of life. Rajasthan, a BJP governed state is convicted of changing the historical books and evidences according to their idea of India and for the rest, this is a daunting thing. Formidable as it may be, the books, as per Hindustan Times post of 10th March, 2017 will have school students taught that Rajput warrior Maharana Pratap defeated the decorated army of Mughal emperor Akbar in the Battle of Haldighati some 450 years ago.

Most academics have sneered at the idea because the evidence and the fact shows that Pratap, the ruler of the erstwhile Mewar region, fled the battlefield, although in the later years he continued his guerilla war against the Mughals.

Professor D. N. Jha, former member of the Indian Council for Historical Research stated clearly that all heroes, from Pratap to Prithviraj Chauhan that the RSS is projecting had lost conclusively.

He added that one cannot re-write history by twisting the facts.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, during last year's JNU row had fallen for a fake tweet by the mastermind Hafiz Saeed in which he had shown support to the JNU protests. Rajnath Singh while speaking to media claimed that the JNU protests had the support of Hafiz Saeed, the wanted man. Later, however, the tweet turned out to be a fake one from an unverified account.

Making statements on something which isn't authenticated gives the wrong impression of the ruling party.

BJP must understand that history, facts and evidences should be kept and used as it is and anything which isn't proven right shouldn't be shared as it would be the most deceptive thing for the nation and the future generations.

10 things to not miss when in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia is considered as one of the most conservative nations across the globe. With its modernization and opening of tourism sector, below are some of the things you can do here. I have jotted down the top 10 things you cannot dare to miss during  your visit to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 1)       Shawarma Let us roll with the first one, literally! Shawarma it is. One cannot simply come to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and not have a Shawarma. Though not originally discovered in Saudi Arabia and not the native dish of Saudis, it has been topping the food chart since ages; without a doubt. Reason why I have placed it on number one in the ‘to do list’ is simply because of its availability at every corner of the city and that not even a single person would not like it. Like absolutely no one!  Shawarma wrap Shavings cut from a block of meat on a rotating split, it was originally invented in Turkey during the times of Ottoman Empire. Saudi Arabia adopted it a

Javed's Nihari

Karim’s…Mughlai Cuisine…Moti Mahal…no doubt are one of those finest places to dine in for dinner, but as I traveled today in the downtown of Jamia Milia, I came across this area packed with food and people. Yes, the lanes of Zakirnagar in Batla House are one of the most crowded places in South Delhi and this brings me closer to ‘Javed Bhai ki Nihari’. What young and old, people of all ages crave this. Javed ki Nihari as the name says was started by Javed Bhai. He has this small place for ‘take away’. Dining in is one of the most difficult tasks on Saturdays and Sundays and finding a place is like an achievement in itself. I could see many young guys chit chatting here. The place is is a small area where Javed Bhai has his handi and a big tandoori roti opening. One side you have this big handi in which the nihari is filled in and the other side is the roti area. People, when coming to this place make sure have atleast an hour to spare even when thinking to have a take away. Th

It’s all about BEEF!

Following the recent ban on the consumption of Beef in some of the states of India like Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Kashmir, one might believe that the RSS led BJP government has taken the above step in order to respect the belief of Hindu majority as cow is considered the sacred animal but little do we know that top exporters of beef in India are owned and controlled by none other than my majority Hindu brethren and not the minority Muslim community. The general ideology behind beef consumption is that Muslim and Christian communities are the largest consumers of beef in India, which might actually be true also, however it is also true that the main slaughter houses across the country are owned by the Hindus . Al Kabir, owned by Mr. Satish and Atul Sabharwal with its office located in Mumbai is one of the leading exporters of beef in India Mr. Sunil Kumar, owner of Arabian exports is also in the top list of beef exports.
